Extremely bad building to live in. No maintenance whatsoever, corridors are dirty and have smelly old carpets from the time building was built, which was more than 60 years ago. Parking lot in the back is neglected and out of few available parking spots, one is reserved only for building manager who comes there once a month to collect rent. That btw is the only thing he does. Building manager doesn't respond to any tenants issues such as repairs or sanitary issues. Laundry room is basically dirty basement filled with all kinds of garbage and old furniture with one washer and one dryer that are broken every so often and require tenants to call repairman themselves. Building manager and one of the owners have preferential treatment when unit becomes available and give them to aquaintances. Some tenants are ok but in fear to speak up because they lived there so long and are trying to hold on to their low rent. There are few really bad tenants, sketchy characters with loud noise and suspicious looking visitors at all hours of day and night. They are brought in on much higher rent and are given free pass to terrorize the rest of the building. There have been numerous reports of bedbugs and cockroaches in several units, about which nothing was done by management to this day. Wiring and plumbing are in disrepair and building is not safe for personal belongings. There have been number of thefts in hallways of tenants bicycles and other items, either by people walking in or by some of the tenant's visitors. The only way to resolve any issue is to move out, which is exactly what building manager and owner want so that they can get someone else and hike up the rent. Typical slum landlord situation. There are many buildings you can find in Vancouver that are properly managed, safe, clean and still cheaper than this dump. Don't even consider this place or you will end up losing money, won't have any peace of mind and will be subjected to horrible living conditions.
