I spent 3 years living in this apartment. The location of this building is great if you are an active persion. It is just a short bike ride or run from the trails in Assiniboine park and Assiniboine Forest. There is a shopping center a couple of blocks away as well as many food options a short walk from the building. The parking lot is large with assigned parking. Snow clearing was not always quickly done. I have had to help push many cars out of this lot.
The caretakers in this building have always been friendly and helpful, and have always kept the public areas vacuumed and clean.
The units are almost sound proof. I have no idea what the other reviewer was talking about. This is a concrete building with thick floors and walls. There were several musicians from amateurs to professionals who lived here and I could only hear them practicing in the halls.
The neighborhood is one of the safest in the city but one of the reasons I left the building was due to some of the new tenants who had moved in. There were several thefts on the property of laundry and other items. In my last year of living here there were also tenants who get drunk and cause noise, arguments and fights (you couldn't really hear these in the apartments unless it spilled out into the halls).
This is one of the few buildings I have ever been in where you can actually hook up a sub woofer in your apartment and not have to worry about the noise.

I lived at 211 laxdal, right beside this one almost a decade ago when it was still affordable to live here. I really liked the layout. The bachelor suite has sliding doors to create a bedroom. Giant window. Very cool. The walls are quite thin, you can hear people using their bathroom. There was a 2 inch gap under my door, and a hamster came in my apartment!!! Globe is a weird company. They ask for $100 of your deposit to be in cash, not sure how legal that is. The laundry is a rip off. Well, I'm glad I got out before they jacked up the rent.
