Reviewer says...
Tenant had lived at Trelawny Manor for 6 years and always paid rent on time, and often early.
She was quiet, kept to herself and followed all the rules of the complex. While recovering from successful heart surgery she was evicted, with no just cause. Landlady deemed her unable to
live independently and a safety hazard. ( She had been assessed by Fraser Health as more than capable of living on her own). Tenant was harassed with multiple notices taped to her door, requesting entry. Another notice told her to wash walls, drapes and carpets before her eviction. Another time knocking on her door lasted for 20 minutes. There are many more incidents.
The harassment and bullying caused extreme stress and anxiety for the tenant and affected her recovery.
Did I mention the tenant was 96 years old, had nowhere else to go, and died three weeks after being evicted?

Maintenance is done by the elderly landlords, and often is just a temporary fix. The carpet nails are exposed, the sinks randomly fill up with dirt, cupboards are from the 60's or 70's and are always falling apart. The fridge and stove are old and don't work properly. The landlords will charge you for anything they can. They will tell you that you aren't allowed potted plants on the balconies even though it says nothing of the sort in your tenancy agreement. I have seen tenants accused of things they didn't do because the landlords wanted them out - everything from drugs to having pets, to accusations of arsen, to running home businesses, etc. They often perform monthly inspections, and will go through the bags in the dumpster to find out if any tenants are disposing of things they shouldn't be, and will take pictures of your patio and through your windows at all times of the day or night if they suspect you of something.
