This is an old apartment that has a lot of potential but needs some fixing up. Everything the reviewer from Dec 13, 2018 said hits the nail on the head. Any request for something that needs fixing is met with resistance, and it takes months of unnecessary nagging to get it fixed. There is constantly garbage piled up in the parking lot, either from recent unit renovations or from the garbage/recycling bins not being taken out consistently. Some aspects of maintenance I could overlook if the rent wasn't so high. The roof needs to be fixed to prevent leaks. The unit balconies are falling apart from rot, and the outside of the building is covered with mold. The buzzer system needs updating. The only maintenance I've seen done on the building is the pressure-washing of the parking garage, which was completely unnecessary. The property management company doesn't seem to exist.

I understand that this is an old building. But after years, it should be an expectation that things needs to be fixed. It is like pulling tooth and nail every single time things need to be done. When there are leaks or very broken items, it is nearly impossible to get them to believe us. They want us to fill in these forms to submit reports (totally reasonable), but then rarely follow up that they have received it and it's going into the workflow. Things need to be submitted multiple times. I suspect that they are doing this to force people to move out so they can raise the rent.

We have no idea what kind of oversight the building manager has. This company is a bit of a ghost corporation. There doesn't seem to be a head office and all the staff are completely separate from each other. If the building manager doesn't want to do something, it simply doesn't get done. She claims she gets pushback from the building owner, but then refuses (or maybe the building owner doesn't allow her) to let us get in touch with them. We had to quote the law to convince her to do something once.

I rent one of the unites on No.825 at Jan 2017 for 1 year lease , after 2 months I found a job and because I am the new comer on Canada , I had to catch the opportunity and after 2 months the transportation to my job coast me a lot and takes a lots of time so I gave an 40 days advance notice to manager by mail that I want to move out , at the date of moving she cam me to ma and told me that we rent the unite but we take full of your deposit which is half of the one month rent and you have to pay for painting (totally no need) but new tenant asked for that and also you did not cleaned the unit professionally and we have to pay to cleaner for 5 hours and 50 CAD for an hour and totally 250 CAD and 500 CAD for new painting which you will pay us extra it means despite of my 40 days notice they took my security deposit pulse 750 CAD !!! It is not the BC roles at all , they do what are they want to the tenant . If any body have the same problems let me know and we can fallow this non acceptable matter legally .
