When my family and I lived here last year, it was not a good experience. The co-op is managed by members, but many of the long-term members are aggressive about policing the amount of hours other members volunteer in a week, and it is difficult for working families to volunteer the 10-15 hours that seem to be expected each week. In addition, there has been an incredibly mismanaged renovation project that, according to my friend who still lives at Levellers, is still ongoing TWO YEARS after it began. It was very disruptive to have people constantly coming in and out of our suite, and being told to move or pack away rooms for the workers only to not have them show up for weeks at a time, so I don't trust the members to manage anything after having lived through that.

The building has frequent break-ins, so B&Es are a big concern, but I never felt unsafe in the building personally. Parking is free, which is a great plus, but again, very prone to break-ins and smashed windows.

The soundproofing is atrocious between suites. I could hear the details of the conversation my upstairs neighbors are having when they're talking normally!

The man who is hired to do maintenance for the co-op is lovely and capable, but there is also a maintenance committee of members and their results are a mixed bag.

All in all I would recommend against living here. The hostile long-term members will be a stress to deal with unless you join multiple committees or volunteer 10+ hours a week. The ongoing construction might end someday, but the management of the project was such a gong show that I sense it might be repeated in the future with different projects that will impact members negatively. Finally, the complete lack of soundproofing and break and enters led us to feel unsafe having our young child in the building, so we moved to a safer city.
