Reviewer says...
I lived here and had to endure silverfish bugs DAILY! They'd come out of the kitchen drain, the shower drain, from under the baseboards. I'd find them in the sink, the kitchen countertop, inside the cupboards, everywhere.
I SPECIFICALLY asked before moving in if bugs were a problem and management denied it, but after moving in and discovering these disgusting bugs everywhere, I was told that "Vancouver is a rainforest and so they come because of the climate".

I've lived in Vancouver over 40 years and have never had to endure them. Also, many neighbours told me that they had the same problem with these silverfish, some units more than others. One neighbour told me that years ago before they began renovating, they had bed bugs, cockroaches and even fleas. He used to work as a cleaner for this building when it was still be run as a hostel.

Also, these micro units at supposed to be singe occupant rentals, because most of the units at 150 square feet, which is the size of a dorm, but a few are being rented to couples despite assurances by management that this isn't so. Just know ahead of time that this policy is routinely ignored, and the walls are pretty thin, so if you live next to a couple you'll hear e-v-e-r-t-h-i-n-g.

The washing machines are the stack variety, and are pretty economical, though they are NOT cleaned, so you'll find they vary in hygiene from ok to grossly unacceptable.

And lastly, it's technically a non-smoking building, but some people ignore that and smoke in their unit, and it they do it will go in your air vent and so if you are above them, the smoke will rise through the air venting system and directly into your apartment.

They do have a garden area for smokers, and they smoke pot there too, so if the silverfish don't disgust you are A-ok with the smell of tobacco and skunk weed, then I suppose this is your place.

On the plus side, the location is excellent and the rent is in the $1000 range, which unfortunately for this city, is considered reasonable. Just remember that it gets you a mini bathroom that is about as large as a 1st class bathroom on an airliner, along with a small room that is your living/dining/bedroom rolled up in one (I'd compare it to living in a small camper van. With bugs.
