Management is polite, and maintenance work orders are done in a timely and efficient manner once reported; they make an effort to accommodate their work schedule with yours if something needs to be fixed while you are away, which is nice. Hallways and entrance lobbies are cleaned daily. It's not at all quiet, because, as mentioned by another reviewer, you can hear adults, children and pets in the hallways each day, whether it's their footsteps, speech or barking. Additionally, the walls are thin, so you will regularly hear your neighbour's music or television. The heating is awful because it is centralized, so if you have any leaks in your window, you better bundle up. The Laundry is located at the top floor and is generally not too busy, though their new washing machines are not ideal since you cannot dissolve the soap in the water prior to starting your wash cycle. The storage services are completely useless since the hours of operation are far from ideal. Furthermore, there isn't enough bicycle storage for each unit, which makes no sense; you'd think that each apartment (or bedroom for that matter) should be able to a bicycle. While the rooms are freezing in the winter, they are also sweltering in the summer. I would argue that this is because the windows do not open fully, preventing efficient air flow throughout the apartment. The only solutions would be to purchase your own fan or an air conditioner from building management. That's correct, they limit purchasing options, unfortunately. I can't speak much for indoor, reserved parking, but the parking outside isn't too bad. It's just annoying that you have to download an app in order to use it. The neighbourhood is alright. You have direct access to canal, making commutes by bike or walking excellent. Most services can also be found right next door in the two plazas (post office, convenience stores, 24 hour restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, barbershop, etc.), though it's missing an LCBO and Beer store, which is unfortunate. The main bus route, the 111 (I'm writing this in January 2018) brings you directly to the O-Train station, Billings Bridge (and Bank Street) or Carleton University, and it comes about every 15 minutes on most days. Sundays, however, are a pain for commuting, especially if you are trying to head to this apartment complex from Billings Bridge station, because the bus comes every 30 minutes. Another issue I should mention is that, if your apartment faces the road (Prince of Wales) you'll likely be disturbed by the sound of honking, sirens and all things driving. Hope these details help. Overall, it's a decent place to live if you want the convenience of close-by amenities and cheap rent, though travelling downtown might be frustrating at times if you are stuck to public transit.

The windows on all apartments are very very poorly insulated, you can hear and feel wind blowing threw them. To "Winter proof" your apartments they put cocking around the inside of all the windows making them un-openable, and very annoying to remove come summer time.
During the winter they will only turn on the heat at the last possible moment. as a result it is very cold most of the winter.
The building has very poor insulation, as a result you can hear lots of noise from the hallways.
Elevators are down constantly, and constantly in service due to people moving out and in every single month
Very poor experience so far. Will not recommend

Really liked it here. Nice outdoor pool, tennis courts, renovated lobbies and hallways. Concrete floors are great for low noise, lots of laundry machines in the building though you'll still find yourself in line ups if you do laundry on weekends because of the size of the buildings. Caretakers are very friendly, and management is on-site. Storage is a pain because you're supposed to make appointments at certain hours to be able to access your stuff. Guest parking is available but in low quantities.

Fantastic location for people who work or go to school at Carleton in the summer (very quick walk/bike) but the bus can be a bit of a pain in the winter. Also a good spot for people working at the government buildings at Baseline and Merivale as the bus to there is very direct as well.

The Prince of Wales complex was a great spot to live. It was close to Carleton university (where I went) and many other amenities. It was professionally managed and had onsite security which was a great feature for a young female university student like myself. It was fairly inexpensive and I loved the swimming pool! Average loudness I guess... not much you can do about that.
