Reviewer says...
I've been living here for 8 months now in a refurbished one-bedroom apartment.

Cons:

- Rent is expensive (I think the cheapest one-bedroom apartments start at $1059/month, plus you have to pay hydro)
- Laundry is expensive ($1.50 per wash load, $0.25 every 7 mins of drying time)
- Often noise in the hallways on Friday/Saturday nights as the students go out partying or come back wasted early in the morning
- Lees is a busy street, people go too fast on it and you'll often hear people blaring their horns at pedestrians crossing the street
- A lot of Ottawa University students, but most are well-behaved and many are international students, but the loud students might stick out a lot
- Having no car can be a challenge since the closest major grocery store is a Loblaws by Isabella, which is very expensive. Takes me about 14 mins to walk to the store. You'll have to take 2 buses to get to Wal-Mart.

Pros

- No beg bugs/cockroaches/ants, and I have never heard of anyone having these bugs in this building
- Central heating and A/C is included in the rent (there is electric heating but don't turn them on unless you want to pay millions of dollars in Hydro costs)
- Concrete walls so I rarely ever hear my neighbours
- Good management and maintenance crew, have never had a problem with either
- Central air (throughout whole building, gets shut off in October) and central heating
- Refurbished apartments with granite countertops
- Lots of light in the apartments thanks to the large windows
- Underground parking (have to pay)
- Close to downtown and close to major OC Transpo routes (e.g. 95 Eastbound and 85)
- Will be right beside the future LRT Lees station
- Building is really quiet from May to early August as all the students are gone, though there are a few young and no-so-young professionals that live here all year

Overall I am very pleased with my apartment. It is expensive, but the price is worth the peace of mind. It is a very good apartment for students and young professionals, especially if you can afford it.
