Lived here from Aug 2015 - Aug 2018. Overall it was a nice place to live when I was a student at UOttawa.

Pros:
- Superintendent is fantastic and super nice. Speaks english and french
- It's in a fairly quiet part of Sandy Hill; safe to walk at night (save for occasional skunks wandering around the streets in the summer)
- It's very warm in the winter
- Secure area for tenants to lock up bikes, you can also pay for storage (not sure the price since I didn't do this)

Cons:
- Laundry: machines are new and functional, it's just that there aren't a lot of them (3 washers and 3 driers for the whole building...) and it's $2.50 to wash and the same to dry
- Parking is pretty limited, and the outdoor lot behind the building is a bit awkward to pull in to (not a problem though if you don't have a car)
- Ventilation is pretty bad; the only vents I had were in my washroom (with no fan to draw air in or out) and the stovehood in the kitchen. It also gets pretty dusty in the apartments so you'll want to vacuum often
- It gets VERY warm in the summer, mostly because of the poor ventilation. Would HIGHLY recommend installing an AC

Other points:
- When I was there they installed some new sliding doors for the balconies which hold heat well in the winter
- Apartments are really only good for one person to live in; my partner moved in for the last few months I was there and it definitely felt cramped with two people.

Overall, if you're a student looking for something that's (somewhat) reasonably priced for Sandy Hill, I'd recommend this place. Compared to other places in Sandy Hill I've lived in this has been pretty good value and I can't stress how great the superintendent is.

The superintendant/maintenance guy is beyond sweet. He takes good care of this facility with a very limited budget.

Parking is not great, It's either a narrow long trail that goes to the back of other buildings and then you finally end up in the parking area. Hopefully you won't get stuck in the last parking spot as It's half covered by snow piles during winter time. The interior parking is decent but the transitioning from the street to the ramp going down to the parking may hurt your car as it did with mine. Tends to scrape under your car unless you go in a very specific angle.

The ventilation isn't great. During the summer the elevators are very warm and the laundry room gets way too warm. The poor maintenance guy has to pay for the little batteries for the clock in the laundry room because the facility owner won't cover the cost for two little batteries.

We live here because overall the pros out way the cons for us. It's safe around here. The maintenance guy is so nice. It's pet friendly. If you have a portable A.C. unit you can hook it up and they'll charge you an additional fee of 150 for the summer which is good. At least you control how cool it is in your apartment.

Best of luck.
